Well, it’s elk season here in Colorado!
I learned something yesterday I wanted to share. Elk hunting is a lot more fun with a guide. I’ve been elk hunting for 15 years with the same group of guys. Ben, a friend of a friend, came over last night. As we were talking strategy, bugling, and making calls, I realized that this guy knows a lot more about elk hunting than I do!
Listening to him and how he understands details about the animals, why they talk, how the different sounds mean different things and how the bugle made the cows react was super interesting. It has made this day of hunting so much more fun. We came in with a strategy, discussing who would come up over this ridge to approach the hunting zone.
As I walked in this morning, I thought this was what I get to do in the franchise space. There are so many people that are trying to “hunt” themselves. They’re looking for franchises all on their own. I get the privilege to share my knowledge and understanding of the franchise space like Ben was sharing things that he knows and understands about elk hunting.
It’s so much more fun with a guide. If you’re interested in researching franchises, I would love to help you by sharing the information that I know. For example, when you read an FDD, these are the things that you need to pay attention to. You’ll need to link this section with that section, and I want to ensure you’re looking at the back of the FDD. When you meet with a franchisor, you’ll need to ask the franchisor these kinds of questions; this is why they are important questions to ask.
When you have a strategy, and you have a guide who is an expert, it makes the experience so much fun.
